Editor's Review

The drawing tools are pretty basic — crayons, paint buckets, stickers, and a few brushes — but that's the point. For a toddler, anything more complex would be overwhelming. My son figured out how to switch colors in about ten seconds flat. He spent a solid twenty minutes filling in a dinosaur outline, then added star stickers all over its back. The app also has a "glow" mode where colors shimmer, which he found hilarious. It's not trying to teach advanced art skills; it's just giving little fingers a safe, low-pressure way to mess around with colors.

What I appreciated most is how the app handles mistakes. There's an undo button, but honestly, my kid didn't care about "mistakes." He'd just scribble over something and move on. The app doesn't scold, doesn't lock you into a specific path. You can color outside the lines, mix colors however you want, and even shake the phone to erase everything (which became his favorite party trick). It's designed for the chaotic, short attention span of a toddler brain.

There are a few dozen pages to color — animals, vehicles, princesses, dinosaurs — and the stickers add some replay value. My daughter, who's four, preferred the "paint by numbers" style pages where each section is labeled with a number. It's not exactly educational in a structured way, but it does help with color recognition and fine motor control. The sound effects are cute without being annoying, and you can turn them off in settings if they drive you crazy.

If you've got a kid under five and need a digital babysitter for ten minutes while you cook dinner, this works. It's not going to teach them to read or solve math problems, but it'll keep them entertained without making you feel guilty about screen time. Just don't expect a polished art app — expect crayons on a coffee table, minus the mess.
