You pick your favorite pup—Chase, Marshall, Skye, the whole crew—and then you’re dropped into Adventure Bay. The core loop is simple: there’s always a rescue mission to run. A cat stuck in a tree? Send Rubble. A broken bridge? Zuma’s on it. Each mission plays out as a short mini-game where you tap, drag, or tilt to complete the task. It’s not deep, but for a three-year-old, it’s just the right amount of challenge. My daughter figured out the controls in about two minutes.
What surprised me is how much there is to do outside the missions. You can drive the pups’ vehicles around the town freely, collect dog treats, and unlock new outfits or gear. The map is small but packed with little details—a fire hydrant here, a slide there. Kids can also decorate their own lookout tower, which is basically a virtual dollhouse with PAW Patrol stickers. It’s the kind of open-ended play that keeps them busy while you’re making dinner.
Here’s the thing I actually appreciate: the game doesn’t shove ads in your face every thirty seconds. There are optional video ads you can watch for extra treats, and there’s a subscription if you want all the pups unlocked from the start. But the free version gives you a rotating set of characters and plenty of missions to cycle through. My kid never once asked me to buy anything. That’s rare in the kids’ game space.
It’s not a game for older kids. If your child is past kindergarten, the repetition might bore them. But for toddlers and preschoolers who already love the show, this is a no-brainer. One tip: let them drive the vehicles around aimlessly. That’s where half the fun lives.
